Moti Shahak is considered in the inner circle of the European hedging masters at the top his class.

Only 17, years old, this Budapest native has managed to be involved in some of the largest financial deals undertaken between European banks and former soviet republics.

Mordechay is the third born and only son out of seven children. His Mom Sophie is a School teacher mother and his father  Eli , a private entrepreneur. Although his parents always wanted him to be a surgeon and still hold high hopes for that, Mordechay has always shown incredible analytical skills in every activity he participated in. He is especially talented in Science, card games like Bridge, Chess and more.

His ability to study and learn patterns in foreign currencies was enough to establish his family’s financial wealth at the age of 12. At the age of 14 he had a desk and computer in one of the Hungary’s largest foreign currencies departments.

“The relationship , action and reaction between to variables has always fascinated me, the fact that in the currency market you have two major variables that are so rich which fundamental and technical information is just amazing”.

“I really can’t pin point m finger on what distinguishes me from others, maybe it’s the fact that I factor in information such as long lasting economical cycles , allows me to see how the graph will behave”.

Mordechay’s ability is especially needed when a foreign company , let’s say a Russian private hospital wants’ a loan from a German Bank.

The loan will be given in Dutch Marks and that’s what the Russian hospital will repay. Therefore the Russian hospital can be harmed by changes between the Russian Rubble (RR) and the Dutch Mark. If the RR falls , the Russian hospital will have to pay much more RR’s for every Dutch Mark they return.

Therefore they must protect or hedge themselves buy buying a forward currency contract between the RR and the DM protecting them from fluctuations in the price of the currency.

There is a lot of financial activity going on in Eastern Europe especially in the energy industry and this 17 year old Maverick has managed to be regarded at his early age.

It will not be a surprise for anyone to see Mordechay Shahak working for the biggest players in the financial market.
